Contractor Opportunities Rose in September

Opportunities for contractor jobs rise as those working as limited company contractors are said to be “inundated” with new work over the course of September 2016, according to new research.

Recruitment International analysed the latest edition of the UK Job Market Report from Adzuna, which showed that the number of people in competition for each new opportunity fell over the course of the month, alongside a rise in advertised vacancies.

Due to this supply/demand status, contractors were faced with a greater deal of choice when it came to selecting their next opportunity. The number of new opportunities that were available for contractors increased by 0.8 per cent from August to September, alongside a fall to 0.47 in the average number of workers applying for each position.

Co-founder of Adzuna Doug Monro stated: “Jobseekers looking to move into a new role or those that are fresh to the jobs market hold all the aces at present.

“Many predicted that Brexit would deflate the jobs market, but the opposite in fact has occurred. September’s figures represent a bouncing back from the momentous EU referendum result, and renewed consumer and employer confidence.”
