An industry-leading pharmaceutical business has a fantastic opportunity to join their intranet project team.

With a diverse workforce based in multiple European locations, the organisation is improving employee engagement and developing a culture of two-way communication which includes the use of modern platforms. A new intranet is a key element in the internal communications channel mix and it has become a top priority for the management team.

Role purpose:

The intranet project manager will play a critical role in developing a leading-edge internal platform to drive improved communication, engagement and collaboration across the organisation. Reporting into the senior communications manager, and working closely with various internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, this role will suit an established project manager with communications experience and the gravitas to advise on best practice whilst delivering a high-quality new intranet to time and budget.

Key responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager with strong experience in the communications field, ideally delivering intranet or new internal system launches. They will:

  • Lead the development, launch and implementation of a company-wide intranet platform
  • Create training materials and user guides detailing the functionality of the new site
  • Ensure high communication levels between different stakeholder groups throughout the project
  • Plan and produce content with different business units
  • Provide colleagues with the information they need, when and how they need it, so the intranet becomes essential to their working day
  • Manage project plans and project governance throughout
  • Ensure the new platform is easy to use on any device, is intuitive and is compatible with the wider business’s IT roadmap and security policies

Key skills and experience

  • Proven experience managing, planning and implementing intranet launches, including working closely with vendor/platform supplier
  • Solid project management experience
  • Knowledge of digital internal communications and engagement best practise
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills to coordinate and facilitate activities with colleagues from various departments
  • Familiarity with social and content management platforms
  • Basic understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
