Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in accountancy to gain further experience within a cash allocations team as an accounts assistant.  This role is a maternity cover for 10 months and will be starting early in 2019.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the allocation of cash received into the Credit control department
  • Preparing and issuing daily Treasury analysis and bank balance information to senior management
  • Verifying remits
  • Scanning remits and cheques onto the system
  • Importing bank statements
  • Managing the cash allocation inbox
  • Completing global bank statements and allocations
  • Allocating BACS/cheques payments onto accounts
  • Completing reconciliations
  • Contacting clients by phone and email to secure remits and ensuring clients are using the correct bank details
  • Covering the purchase order inbox when needed
  • Writing letters for the department using templates
  • Completing client supplier forms
  • Being the first point of contact for the department's incoming calls
  • Using Adobe Acrobat to edit documents
  • Producing the daily call report
  • Arranging 'write offs' when needed
  • Completing internal transfers between bank accounts
  • Reporting on the daily cash position for credit control
  • Responding in a timely fashion to queries from the credit control team
  • Matching of credit notes to invoices
  • Managing the archive of documents
  • Answering auditor questions
  • Running journals
  • Covering the work of team members during periods of absence

This is a busy but important role within the accounts team and would suit someone with limited experience in an accounts function looking to gain further skills or someone looking to return to work in a local business.
